HKS Front Pipe – Honda Civic Type R FL5
Unlock the full potential of your FL5’s exhaust system with the HKS Front Pipe, designed specifically for the Honda Civic Type R FL5.
When upgrading to a high-flow catalyst, the factory front pipe can become a restriction in the exhaust system. The HKS Front Pipe increases exhaust flow by using a larger 74.7mm diameter pipe, smoother bends and carefully engineered transitions to reduce restrictions and exhaust back pressure.
Developed to work seamlessly with the HKS Metal Catalyzer and HKS exhaust systems, the HKS Front Pipe can also be paired with the factory exhaust system for improved exhaust flow and performance.
HKS testing shows that the Front Pipe can further reduce exhaust resistance when combined with the HKS Metal Catalyzer.
With the HKS Metal Catalyzer and factory muffler, HKS recorded an increase from 250kW (340PS) to 255kW (347PS), while maximum torque increased from 439Nm to 446Nm.
When combined with the HKS Metal Catalyzer and HKS LEGAMAX Sports exhaust, exhaust resistance was reduced by up to 23% compared with the HKS Catalyzer, stock front pipe and LEGAMAX Sports combination.
The HKS Front Pipe also changes the character of the exhaust note, producing a clearer and more refined sporty sound with the factory muffler, while the LEGAMAX Sports combination delivers a more aggressive, race-inspired exhaust note.
