HKS Oil Cooler Kit is engineered for the Honda Civic Type R FK8 with the K20C engine, delivering superior cooling performance for demanding driving conditions. While the stock water-cooled oil cooler is sufficient for regular use, prolonged circuit driving can cause both oil and coolant temperatures to rise rapidly, risking reduced performance or fail-safe activation.
This air-cooled oil cooler system is designed to enhance heat dissipation, effectively lowering oil temperatures while also reducing coolant heat load. A specially designed aluminium air guide directs airflow to the cooler, maximising efficiency during high-performance driving.
The high-efficiency 48mm-wide, 9-layer core is strategically mounted inside the inner fender for optimal cooling while maintaining a clean installation. To address potential noise from stainless mesh oil lines, the kit includes a dedicated insulator to minimise oil pump pulsation noise inside the cabin. A built-in thermostat ensures oil temperatures remain within the ideal range during normal driving, preventing overcooling.
Installation requires only minimal vehicle modifications, including trimming the rear of the front bumper, inner fender, and brake duct. This makes the HKS Oil Cooler Kit a high-performance, track-ready upgrade with minimal compromise to the vehicle’s factory design.
