The Mugen Front Carbon Aero Bonnet (GROUP B) is engineered to improve both cooling efficiency and aerodynamic balance on the Honda Civic Type R FL5. Developed through detailed analysis, the centre duct is positioned in the optimal location to release hot air from the engine bay while maintaining stable airflow across the bonnet surface.
By using the incoming air captured through the front grille, the bonnet’s duct design also contributes to additional front-end downforce. This improves high-speed stability and enhances steering response, especially during spirited driving.
Constructed from high-quality CFRP, the bonnet achieves a meaningful weight reduction, approximately 3 kg lighter than the factory bonnet—while retaining the rigidity required for performance use. A UV-cut protective coating preserves clarity and prevents fading, keeping the carbon weave looking sharp over time.
A direct replacement for the OEM bonnet, it delivers genuine aerodynamic gains with a motorsport-inspired finish.
