PRL Motorsports High Volume Carbon Intake System - Honda Civic Type R FL5
The PRL High Volume Intake System (HVI) is engineered to maximize airflow and performance for the Honda Civic Type R FL5, building on years of proven development from PRL Motorsports. Designed with premium carbon fibre construction, the intake not only delivers power but also blends seamlessly with the FL5’s factory engine bay aesthetics.
With a 6-inch cone filter housed in a heat-resistant HDPE rotomolded airbox, the HVI retains the factory ducting while addressing the OEM system’s biggest restriction: airflow starvation under load. The addition of a secondary duct eliminates pressure loss, ensuring consistent airflow and preventing the 10–20 hp drop seen in testing with the stock unit.
Stepped silicone couplers provide smooth transitions between components, reducing resistance and improving throttle response. With a 133% increase in airflow compared to OEM and factory-like fuel trims, the PRL HVI delivers the perfect balance of performance, reliability, and drivability.
