PRL Motorsports Intercooler Upgrade – Honda Civic Type R FL5 (2023+)
The factory Honda Civic Type R intercooler is notorious for heat-soak, which reduces power, increases detonation risk, and hampers consistency under spirited driving or higher power levels. The PRL Motorsports Intercooler Upgrade solves these issues with a high-performance 28.35 x 4.3 x 7.25” bar-and-plate core rated for 600+ horsepower.
Featuring a 31% increase in surface area and improved internal flow, this intercooler significantly lowers charge air temperatures while maximizing efficiency. The billet machined aluminum end tanks ensure strength, precision, and smooth airflow, while retaining the factory shrouds, air ducts, and mounting points for an OEM-style fit.
For maximum cooling, PRL extended the fins to span the full width of the FL5 front bumper opening, ensuring optimal airflow to both the intercooler and radiator. No ECU tuning is required, making this a direct bolt-on upgrade that delivers immediate performance benefits.
