An LSD (Limited Slip Differential) is an essential upgrade for maximizing traction and handling in front-engine, front-wheel-drive sports cars. While the OEM helical LSD balances sportiness and comfort, it lacks the precision and performance demanded during aggressive driving and track use.
Spoon Sports developed this 1.5 Way mechanical LSD to deliver sharper cornering performance and improved stability under both acceleration and deceleration. Through extensive testing across multiple driving environments, Spoon optimized the cam angle settings to ON 50°/OFF 20°, with an initial torque of 5.0–6.0 kg. This setup enhances control when pushing the car to its limits while retaining smooth drivability for everyday use.
A specially designed clutch plate minimizes chattering noise, providing superior comfort compared to conventional mechanical LSDs. Combined with Spoon’s proven durability, this LSD unlocks the Civic Type R’s full performance potential.
