Honda’s factory air intake system is known for its innovative pulsation control, designed to enhance throttle response and drivability. Spoon Sports takes this further with a high-performance air cleaner engineered specifically for the FL5 Civic Type R to lower intake temperatures and maximize airflow efficiency.
Through dyno optimization and extensive road testing, Spoon developed a filter material with the ideal balance of density and flow. Higher-density filters increase particle collection but often restrict airflow, while lower-density materials may compromise drivability by reducing torque at lower RPM. Spoon’s proprietary filter strikes the perfect balance, maintaining strong filtration while improving torque, power, and throttle response across the rev range.
