Spoon Sports Aluminium Race Radiator – Honda Civic Type R FK8
The stock FK8 Civic Type R radiator uses a 27mm core, which struggles to keep water temperatures below 100°C during spirited or track driving with the 2.0L turbo engine. To unlock the engine’s full performance potential, controlling water temperature is critical.
Spoon Sports has developed an upgraded aluminium radiator with a 36mm core carefully chosen as the optimal thickness for maximum cooling efficiency without unnecessary weight. While thicker cores may seem more effective, they often reduce airflow, leading to diminished performance. Spoon balances this with optimized fin design to improve airflow and cooling efficiency, even under extreme load.
The design allows the use of the factory fan shroud and condenser for seamless integration. An additional 1/8PT bung is also included, making it easy to install an aftermarket sensor.
