The Spoon Sports Carbon Bonnet Vent is designed to significantly improve cooling efficiency for the 11th generation Civic Type R (FL5), where stock cooling can struggle under demanding conditions. While conventional upgrades like low-temp thermostats and larger radiators provide some relief, Spoon developed this bonnet vent to extract heat more effectively during spirited driving and track use.

The vent maximizes its opening area with a louvered design, while the raised front section channels air flowing over the bonnet upwards, pulling hot air out of the engine bay. The rear section extends further toward the engine room, allowing heat to dissipate smoothly and consistently. This design not only improves cooling performance but also enhances long-term engine reliability under heavy loads.

Crafted from lightweight dry carbon, the vent maintains rigidity while reducing weight. The stock rain guard remains in place to prevent water intrusion during normal driving, but for maximum cooling, it can be removed when used on track. Clear coating is recommended to protect the carbon surface.
