Spoon Sports S-Tai Racing Bonnet - Honda Civic Type R FL5

Developed for the 11th-generation Honda Civic Type R, the SPOON SPORTS S-Tai Bonnet is a motorsport-focused upgrade designed to resolve engine bay heat retention during sustained high-load driving.

Through extensive circuit testing, SPOON identified that heat evacuation not airflow intake—was the primary limitation in the FL5’s cooling system. The S-Tai Bonnet addresses this directly with a large central air duct that increases hot air extraction by approximately three times compared to the factory bonnet, significantly improving cooling efficiency during demanding track sessions.

In addition to cooling benefits, the dual side air ducts reduce pressure within the front wheel housings. This pressure relief contributes to increased front-end downforce and improved high-speed stability, enhancing overall handling confidence on circuit.

Tested on SPOON’s S-Tai race vehicles, the bonnet demonstrated stable operating temperatures with no overheating issues, even in summer conditions exceeding 35°C. When paired with a high-capacity radiator and oil cooler, the S-Tai Bonnet further assists in maintaining stable oil temperatures and preventing oil pressure drop during extended track use.

Manufactured from lightweight, high-strength FRP, the S-Tai Bonnet delivers durability and rigidity without unnecessary weight, making it ideal for serious track-focused builds.
