SPOON SPORTS has released the S-TAI Front Bumper for the 11th-generation Civic Type R.

Developed with uncompromising focus on downforce, stability, and cooling, the S-TAI Front Bumper is the result of extensive aerodynamic analysis and real-world circuit validation. The front canard and underfloor geometry were engineered to generate optimal downforce while minimizing unnecessary drag an essential balance for front-engine, front-wheel-drive platforms where front axle load is critical. The result is improved high-speed stability and confidence under hard driving.

Cooling performance has also been significantly enhanced. A redesigned air duct layout improves airflow efficiency to the radiator and intercooler, helping suppress water and oil temperature rise during demanding conditions such as circuit use. For track-focused drivers, dedicated space has been secured on both sides of the inner bumper to accommodate additional oil coolers, making it an ideal solution for endurance racing and frequent track use.

Brake cooling has been further optimized with the inclusion of a brake duct supporting up to 100mm diameter, effectively reducing brake fade during extended driving sessions.

This bumper was born from SPOON SPORTS’ motorsport program, drawing directly from data and experience gained while developing their race car for the Super Taikyu Endurance Race Series. Continuous track testing refined both aerodynamic efficiency and engine bay cooling, resulting in a functionality-driven aero component that embodies SPOON’s racing DNA.
